Applications for ultrasonic cleaning equipment

With ultrasonic cleaning, you can remove contamination from components and tools effectively and without residues when used correctly. The high-performance ultrasonic transducers at the bottom of the bath generate intensive cavitation bubbles in the water which remove the dirt from the part to be cleaned with high energy. The cavitation bubbles are created at so-called cavitation nuclei, which are e.g. the dirt particles on the surface of the inserted parts.

Instructions: How to achieve the best cleaning result (using the carburetor as an example)

The preparation and the choice of the right cleaning agent / preparation depends on the application, for example whether special impurities are present or additional effects such as rust protection are to be achieved. In most cases, however, you can use the preparation Tickopur R 33 (Link) use for a very good result without threat to special materials.

For optimal removal of grease, oil and most other stubborn dirt, a water temperature of 50°C-60°C has proven to be very effective. You can use the integrated heater of your ultrasonic cleaner for this purpose, such as when

Sonorex RK 100 H (Link) or preheat the water and then put it into the device.

Mix the water with the preparation in the ultrasonic bath. For this purpose, use the specification in the package insert, typically you need about 50ml per liter of water for Tickopur R 33.

Place the disassembled carburetor or other tools in the wire basket provided for your unit, for example the Einsatzkorb K 3 C (Link). Do not place the parts simply on the bottom of the unit as this may cause damage to the bottom by the ultrasonic waves.

Optionally, allow the parts to soak for about five minutes. Activate the ultrasound between two to ten minutes depending on the degree of soiling. Special soils or materials require a longer / shorter sonication time, just read the instructions that came with the preparation.

Remove the basket from the ultrasonic bath and rinse the instruments with fresh water and then allow them to dry. Feel free to gently use compressed air to remove excess moisture. Done!

Advantages of ultrasonic cleaning

Ultrasound generates microscopically small bubbles which, when they implode, gently remove dirt even from hard-to-reach places. Using the example of the carburetor, this gentle cleaning method significantly improves the operating behavior of the engine, saving time and money.

In addition to cleaning carburetors, the ultrasonic unit can also be used in the workshop for many other cleaning applications. These include the cleaning of spark plugs, injection nozzles, filters, fittings, screws, tools and many more.
